There has been an exponential increase in the rate of students not attending school, and this trend is continuing. Children of all ages are experiencing social and emotional anxiety in the classroom that is impacting their ability to interact with their peers, concentrate, and learn. These children need additional support.
MacKillop Family Services is thinking outside the box when it comes to engaging at-risk young people in learning with their Paw Pals program, an education outreach program that supports young people to learn with therapy dogs.
Paw Pals reaches children in a way that adults on their own can’t, and the program is achieving fantastic results. To continue and grow their dog therapy learning program, MacKillop Family Services is launching a matched giving day, the Paw Pals Appeal, which will take place on Tuesday 30 April. All donations made in the lead up, and on the day will be automatically tripled by MacKillop’s generous matching partners.
[“I’m” or “Our organisation is”] proud to get behind this innovative program, and we hope you will too. Can you help vulnerable kids in Victoria to connect with education and succeed at school? Find out more and donate at PawPalsAppeal.org.au.
