Paw Pals Appeal

Resource Toolkit

The Paw Pals Program is funded by the generous support of the community. Using the resources below, you can help promote the life-changing work of our Paw Pals program.

About the Paw Pals Appeal

The Paw Pals Appeal is an annual, community fundraiser run by MacKillop Family Services to continue and grow the Paw Pals program - an animal assisted education program that brings together therapy dogs and trained facilitators to create a safe bridge to learning.

All donations made to the Paw Pals Appeal will enable our Paw Pals program to reach more students across Victoria, helping students to regulate emotions, rebuild confidence and engage in achievable learning goals.

Our goal is to raise $201,000 to fund life-changing Paw Pal sessions for young people at risk of dropping out of school forever.

If you have a story or personal experience that supports your reason for supporting the Paw Pals Appeal, please share your story. If you need some inspiration, here are some examples you can use:

I'm supporting MacKillop Family Services’ Paw Pals program because I’ve seen how therapy dogs like help students regulate emotions, rebuild trust, and step back into learning with confidence. With donations doubled for one week only on 20-24 April, I’m inviting my community to get behind this life‑changing work. Give today at pawpalsappeal.org.au.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and confident in school. A therapy dog can be the friend that helps them take that first step. A gift to MacKillop Family Services' Paw Pals Appeal provides therapy dog support to vulnerable children who are at risk of dropping out of school. Find out more and donate at pawpalsappeal.org.au.

I believe every child deserves to feel calm, capable, and connected at school, and that’s why I’m championing the MacKillop Family Services' Paw Pals Appeal. The Paw Pals program has already delivered more than 6,700 sessions across Victoria, but more young people are waiting. From 20-24 April, every gift goes twice as far. Help us reach the $201,000 goal at pawpalsappeal.org.au.

Small paws. Big steps to learning.

Many children and young people want to learn but find school hard due to anxiety, learning challenges, or difficult life experiences. MacKillop Family Services’ Paw Pals program brings therapy dogs and skilled facilitators into schools to create a safe, nurturing space where trust grows, emotions settle, and learning becomes possible again. Paw Pals see students who felt stuck begin to participate, try new tasks, and reconnect with their classmates and teachers.

From 20–24 April, every donation to the MacKillop Paw Pals Appeal is doubled (2×) - making your support go further. We're proud to get behind this innovative program, and we hope you will too to help us reach $201,000.

Your generosity funds student‑friendly resources, training and workshops, therapy dog care, and strong program governance so schools can deliver this support safely and well.

Together, we can be the bridge back to learning. Donate now at www.pawpalsappeal.org.au.
